Ah, Second Life!  So many wonderful times, meeting people from around the world, exploring, creatingFor a while virtual worlds and 3D web were all the rage: Second Life, Kaneva, There, Project Wonderland and more. Are virtual worlds like Second Life still viable?  Are people still using them?

Last year Linen Labs (Second Life) cut its workforce by 30%.  Last time I checked, There was closed but claimed it would reopen. What has your experience been with virtual worlds?  Are you a nay-sayer, or do you think they will endure?
